Michael is the Founder & Managing Partner of Elm Equity Partners. Michael also serves as the CEO & Chairman of the Board of Chance Academic Advising, Inc. In addition, Michael serves as the CIO & Board Member for Eagle Global Holdings, a NYC based private family office with substantial positions in real estate, currencies and commodities, and just under 80 venture and private equity owned companies.
Prior to founding Elm Equity Partners in 2013, Michael worked at Tradeweb: the global pioneer and leader in electronic trading for bonds and derivatives ($250 Billion is traded daily across Tradeweb's global platform). During his time at Tradeweb, Michael held a variety of Strategy & Operational roles and was instrumental in reshaping US Market Strategy, Global Pricing, Swap Execution, Treasury Strategy, and Acquisition & Systems Integration. Michael started his career as a trader at Goldman Sachs, where he worked across 3 of Goldman's most prestigious trading desks: Equity Derivatives, G10 FX Spot, and Electronic & Algorithmic trading. Michael is an avid private real estate investor in New York City, and frequently advises on investments and movements into the residential space, specifically in Manhattan. Michael is widely considered one of the world's foremost experts on accessing private institutions of higher education, cloud computing, electronic trading software, currency trading, block chain technology, private investment management, special needs awareness, and fundraising.
Michael holds a BS in Economics from Duke University and a Certifice of Mastery in Econometrics from the London School of Economics. He also serves as the Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of Seneca Ventures, a member of the Duke Alumni Leadership Council, and a Trustee of the Unique New York Family Trust. He has also served on the board of two cloud-based software companies and one technology business. At his core, Michael is an eccentric entrepreneur, ruthless operator, and highly sophisticated private investor with a relentless focus on creating value in everything he touches.
